Chief instructor awarded his 7th Dan

Well I certainly wasn’t expecting this little surprise last night, and for those who were in the Marlborough session when I was awarded this, you would have seen the shock on my face when I received it.

Martial arts has been a way of life for me for around 35 years, and I have been teaching these classes around 27 years, and to receive my 7th Dan black belt in kickboxing last night feels like the ultimate honour, and I was genuinely shocked and taken by surprise at this award.

I completed my 1st Dan black belt back in 1998, 28 years ago and have loved every minute of my journey to date, and I hope I have many more years ahead of me.

I also can not thank the dedicated team of instructors we have at IMA, and without them we wouldn’t be the club we are today.

I have to thank Eiros Pike, Julian Pike and Jake Evans for their little surprise, and I am genuinely honoured to have been presented this by them all.

Also, Andy at the Cobra Martial Arts Association – CMAA who made this possible and who I can’t thank enough for all of the help and support he gives me and us as a club.

And lastly everyone who trains with us or has trained with us in the past, thank you for helping shape us into what we are today.
