Just a little thought.
Learning kickboxing or martial arts isn’t just about learning a technique a couple of times and then moving on to the next, it’s also about the real life and practical application of that technique.
What we do at impact martial arts Marlborough and Tidworth is show people how to actually use that technique, or combination of techniques in a real life self defence situation, which adds a lot better context to why we are learning it and ultimately how to use it.
There are multiple ways to do this, and we train them all, which ultimately makes people better all round martial artists.
There is an old Bruce Lee saying “I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times”.
Some clubs teach techniques, but not application or context, so people never really learn how to use them properly.
So, if you have tools or resources (techniques) and don’t know how to use them, or possibly when to use them, they are pretty much useless.
