What styles we teach at Impact martial arts

Kickboxing.
The primary style we teach is kickboxing, and this is a great all round martial art for fitness, conditioning, self defence, with a great syllabus to work through, which will challenge you to become better with each belt.

Kickboxing uses a great combination of kicks and punches which are simple and easy to learn, and is one of the most common forms of martial arts around.

Muay Thai / Thai boxing.
Muay Thai, also known as Thai Boxing, is a full-contact combat sport and the national sport of Thailand. It is widely celebrated as the “Art of Eight Limbs” because it utilizes eight distinct points of contact: fists, elbows, knees, and kicks, making it one of the most versatile and effective stand-up striking systems in the world.

So it’s very similar to kickboxing, but with the added knees and elbows.

Our kickboxing and Muay Thai syllabus is rolled into one.

Kick-Jitsu.
Our kick-jitsu syllabus was created by the head of our organisation, the cobra martial arts association (CMAA) Andy Morrell, who holds an 8th Dan black belt in kickboxing and a 6th Dan black belt in Ju Jitsu.

Jiu-Jitsu (literally translating from Japanese as the “gentle art”) is a combat sport, self-defence system, and martial art centered on grappling, ground fighting, and submission holds. Rather than relying on striking, kicks, or brute physical power, Jiu-Jitsu leverages body mechanics, angles, anatomical knowledge, and timing. This configuration enables a smaller or physically weaker practitioner to control and defeat a significantly larger opponent.

Combining this with some elements of kickboxing, its our second syllabus and another great combination you can learn.

Unlike traditional Ju Jitsu (BJJ) you do not need to compete or enter competitions to progress in this syllabus, and this is all taught in house by our senior instructor, Eiros Pike who holds a 4th Dan black belt in this style.

Summary.
Both of our syllabus are completely optional and you are not required to complete either of them if you do not want to do so, some of our students are working through one or both of them, some are doing none, the choice is yours.
