Do I need to have any martial arts experience?

No, absolutely none at all. Our classes are perfect for complete beginners, or people who are already experienced in martial arts.

Am I too old or too young to take on a martial art?

No you are not. All you need is a little energy and enthusiasm. We do not have a minimum age and offer a free trial so you can see if it suits. We have people aged 60+ regularly training with us and there is no maximum age.

What do I need to bring for my first session?

Just some water and comfortable clothing. We supply everything else you will need.

Do I need to pre-book a session?

No, you can just turn up for a free trial at any of our sessions. If you would like more information before coming along, please get in contact.

How much does it cost?

The first session is always free. After that you can pay cash on the day or by bank transfer. We do not tie people into monthly contracts.

As with all sports there is some risk of injury, but we do everything we can to mitigate that. Pretty much everything we do is on to the pads we provide, and sparring is not compulsory.

I have an injury. Can I still join a session?

This depends on the injury. If you have been advised by your doctor not to do any sports, then no. Otherwise we take a sensible approach and can advise you the best we can.

Do I have to do gradings and sparring?

No, these are completely optional and entirely up to you. If you do not like these activities, you don't need to do them.

Can I train if I have a disability or physical restriction?

As long as you have not been advised by your doctor to avoid exercise or contact sport, then yes. Our approach is focused on what you can do, not what you cannot.

What does a typical session consist of?

We always start with a warm up, then pad work, fitness, strength and toning exercises. Depending on your goals, you can then focus on grading syllabus or more pad work. What you focus on is entirely up to you.

Are there any monthly contracts?

No, we do not tie people into monthly contracts and we never will. Gradings are also not compulsory.

What ages do you teach?

From experience we have found that ages 8 and above get on well in our sessions, though this depends on the individual child. We also have people aged 60+ training with us, so there is no maximum age.

What styles do you teach?

We teach a combination of Kickboxing, Muay Thai and Kick-Jitsu, as well as real self-defence, fitness, conditioning, toning, sparring, a full grading syllabus, competitions and private 1-1 sessions.
