Martial arts are one of the largest sporting and recreational activities practiced in the World.
As such, we have a duty of care to ensure our Instructors at Impact martial arts have the training and understanding in areas of work such as safeguarding, risk management and much more, this is due to the amount of access and unavoidable physical contact they have to children and sometimes vulnerable adults.
The martial arts instructor UK (MAIUK) training program is a structured approach to getting our instructors the highest level of training, and this is done through our martial arts association, the cobra martial arts association.
Impact martial arts and the CMAA also strongly believes that a black belt, although an excellent achievement, does not in any way constitute as a qualification to teach. To use an analogy, when a person passes his/her driving test, it does not make him/her a driving instructor, to expand on this please view www.instructorstandards.co.uk
Check out the requirements for the MAIUK training program on the CMAA website for more information.
Wayne Timlin, the chief instructor of Impact martial arts holds a martial arts instructor UK level 1 qualification, this was first awarded in June 2022, Wayne then carried out the refresher training again in 2025 with the head of the CMAA, Andrew Morrell.

We want to ensure our instructors work to the highest possible standards and why we complete this training course.
